Tecnica introduces Agate, the first fast hiking shoe designed within the Women-To-Women initiative, with the support of scientific evidence. Made for fast hiking and exploring all types of technical mountain terrain, the new Agate has been designed according to women’s specific anatomy and requirements, combining comfort, flexibility and cushioning in a fresh, lightweight, protective design.
Technologies
Stable foot support
The Pebax® foam insert of the Impulso technology sits in an oversized EVA midsole geometry, providing a lightweight, durable platform that cradles the foot. As validated by CeRiSM, this construction increases the shoe’s lateral stability when moving fast downhill or on uneven terrain. The midfoot Support Band and the arch support of the underfoot also contribute to enhancing the overall stability.
Reactive cushioning
The midsole unit features Tecnica's exclusive Impulso technology that combines the benefits of a high-rebound EVA and a fulllength Pebax® foam plate, delivering superior cushioning, explosive energy return and long-lasting elasticity. In addition, the exclusive Flex Groove design of the outsole provides targeted flex points, enhancing flexibility and improving forward motion.
Specific women’s comfortable fit
The Agate has been designed around a gender-specific anatomical last to carefully match the more triangular shape, lower volume and narrower heel bone of women's feet. In addition, the underfoot has been fine-tuned to provide support to women's higher foot arch. The comfortable anatomical design has been approved by focus groups with the W2W initiative and scientifically validated by CeRiSM.

EVA Exoshell Cage
Foot and midsole protection from rocks and scree is provided by the durable external EVA Exoshell Cage.
Backloop
The little loop helps the wearer to slide the foot in and out of the shoes effortlessly and can be used to hang them on your backpack or to the climbing harness.
Ortholite® footbed
The anatomically-shaped Ortholite® footbed is highly breathable and provides superior comfort and long-lasting performance.
Vibram® Megagrip™ Outsole
The Vibram® Megagrip outsole is made of a high-performance compound that offers unparalleled grip on dry and wet terrain. This compound is also best in its class for durability and ground adaptation.
Upper TPU film
The upper is protected by layers of TPU film laminated to the polyamide mesh for additional durability at critical areas, such as the heel, toe cap, and medial and lateral zones.
